Live classes
My Classes is your timetable. If your organisation teaches live — online or in a room — this is where it is.

Your next few classes also appear on Home, so you do not have to come here just to see what is next.
Joining
A class carries a meeting link for online sessions, or a location and room for in-person ones. The link appears on the class when it is time.
Classes can be one-offs or recurring — a weekly slot, say. A recurring class generates a session for each date. What you attend is a session; what your instructor scheduled is the class.
Attendance
Attendance is marked by your instructor after the session, not by your joining.

Not marked is not absent. A session that has not been marked yet shows as Not Marked, and it means what it says.
Attendance is often part of your final grade — commonly around a quarter of it — so it is worth checking the Attendance tab occasionally rather than at the end of the course. If something is wrong, tell your instructor: they can correct a register, and a mistake found in week three is a great deal easier to resolve than one found in week twelve.
Attending a class is worth 25 XP.
By default you are not emailed every time your attendance is recorded. That is one of the few notifications that starts switched off, because a mail per register is the fastest way to teach anyone to filter mail from their school. You can turn it on in your preferences.
Cancelled classes
A cancelled session stays on your schedule, marked cancelled, with the reason if one was given. It is not deleted, so "was there a class on the 14th?" has an answer.
You are notified when a class is cancelled or moved, unless you have turned class notifications off.
Recordings
If your instructor publishes a recording, it appears under Recordings and you are notified. Not every class is recorded, and publishing is a deliberate step — a session that happened is not automatically a recording you can watch.
Putting classes in your own calendar
Connect Google Calendar from Manage account → Account settings, and classes will appear in it as they are created, changed or cancelled.
Connecting does not backfill. The platform writes to your calendar when a class changes, and connecting today changes nothing about classes that already exist, so everything you were already invited to would stay missing.
That is what the Sync my classes button on this page is for. It appears only when you have a calendar connected and there is something not yet in it, so if you cannot see it, there is nothing to do. Press it once after connecting and the rest takes care of itself.
